Caring for your English Bulldog in the Summer

by Bonehead on August 5, 2009

English Bulldogs are very sensitive to suffering from heat stroke and even death from of exposure to high temperatures in the summer time, keeping your English Bulldog in temperatures above 90 degrees is very dangerous and should be avoided.

In the event that you will have your English Bulldog out in the heat it is important to provide them with shade as well as unlimited amounts of fresh water to drink, and it is also recommended that you continuously cool your bulldog down with water.

Every Bulldog owner understands the excitement of wanting to keep your bulldog with you at all times, however it is more important for the health of your bullie friend that you make safe decisions for both of you.

Warning signs that your English Bulldog is having a heat stroke:

  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Muscle Cramping and Shaking
  • Weakness and Blank Dazed expression
  • Collapse leading up to death

If you are a new owner of an English Bulldog puppy we recommend taking the time to read information about English Bulldog puppies or select a book about English Bulldogs puppies, doing so will keep you informed of the risks associated with owning an amazing dog breed like an English Bulldog.

English Bulldog Breeder Information

by Bonehead on July 30, 2009

I can remember exactly when we set out to find someone that was a English Bulldog breeder in our area, I also remember that searching through local ads for English Bulldog breeders was time consuming and at times felt like finding the perfect English Bulldog didn’t seem possible.

Fortunately after plenty of searching for either a dog breeder or private individual that had English Bulldog puppies for sale we were lucky enough to come in contact with a family about six hours from where we live in Florida, all though it was not a famous bulldog breeder we were still excited with our choices for an English Bulldog.

At the time we were looking for English Bulldog puppies we had no idea that there were actual English Bulldog rescues or we probably would have tried taking that avenue instead of going through a breeder or a private seller.

English Bulldog Breeders

After doing a little research on my favorite search engine Bing.com, I ended up coming across a place where English Bulldog Breeders and people looking to add a bulldog to their family can connect. At the time I wrote this post there were currently 195 English Bulldog Breeders listed on the Dog Breed Info Center, there are listings for English Bulldogs in just about every state in the United States.

If you are looking for an English Bulldog to add to your family it’s important to verify the sellers and it is also extremely important that the puppies get a clean bill of health from your Vetenarian, getting one from the seller or breeder should not constitute a belief that there is a clean bill of heatlh, do yourself a favor and take the puppy or puppies to your local Vet for a second opinion.

Please feel free to leave a comment if you are looking for an English Bulldog of your own, or if you are looking for a home for an English Bulldog you might consider leaving a comment with exactly what you are looking for. You never know who made read the informtion here.
